"MONSTERS": NICO ROBIN AND ZORO BEFORE ONE PIECE - THE SHISUI SWORD

We have reached the end of the analysis: only the important detail of Ryuma's sword remains. In Thriller Bark arc, the zombie Ryuma (who is basically the same character of "Monsters") is defeated by Zoro. Before ... well, before dying as a zombie, Ryuma gives his sword Shisui to Zoro as a sign of respect. Shisui means "Autumn water". It is a sword with great destructive power, also able to stand up to the giant Odr of Thriller Bark. And above all it has many Zorobin meanings:
- Autumn is Robin and Zoro's favorite season, as Oda says in SBS (responses to readers)
- the hilt of the sword has a base in the shape of a flower (and the flower is Robin's symbol)
- the sheath has stylized figures that resemble flowers (Robin) and each figure is divided into three parts (Zoro uses three swords).
- the blade of the sword has purple tones: purple is Robin's color.
- it is a black sword and this color symbolizes Zoro (who uses a black bandana) and Robin (called the demonic child, and who, especially at the beginning, wore black)
- flowers need water to bloom: and the name "autumn water" is an indirect reference to giving life to flowers, Robin's symbol.
