    ROBIN'S SHYNESS
(Here the first article on Skypiea Arc; here the previous article.)

    OP_SKYPIEA

The scene below (chapter 245) shows...that Robin has become shy. The panelss show that Robin begins to appreciate Zoro as a man physically as well, if you look closely. Robin begins to feel more "woman" than before...

Zoro: It seems that we have ended up in a dangerous place, because of that stupid shrimp... Nami: You are a swordsman, but you killed that shark with one punch! Chopper: Zoro is very strong! Robin: I wonder if the judgment of the divinity Ener is to starve us here?

In fact, Zoro has just spread a kind of shark fish only with his hands and now he's shirtless in front of Robin: I think it's the first time that Robin sees Zoro shirtless, complete with a scar (the famous one that Mihawk made him). Robin's question - on an unconvincing topic, all things considered: if they were really sent there just to starve, it wouldn't take long for them to reach the forest and survive - seems to have been asked only for the purpose of watching Zoro sideways, without being noticed. ^_^ In any case, it is surprising how Robin carefully evaluates the speeches of a man he has known for a few days...indeed, I am surprised by the way these two understand each other so well in such a short time!

Zoro: Do you think a deity would do such a trivial thing? Robin: I don't know...I've never seen one.

Robin walks away from Zoro without saying anything, indeed looking the other way. This is strange for her nature, because usually Robin participates in the group's activities: Zoro is giving important arrangements for the group...but Robin moves away! Later it is seen that Robin had discovered some writings: but she could not have noticed them while she was talking to Zoro (besides, the writings were on the other side!). So, the only explanation is that Robin...has became shy . Observe her hands, clasped behind her back: a sign of shyness like the one shown before, when Robin confided in Zoro while they were alone on the boat. She couldn't show her embarrassment after seeing Zoro's...er...physical prowess though, so she walks away to hide it. Those who say that this is a risky thing, however, cannot give explanations for the fact that Robin, instead of participating in the group, leaves for no reason!

Zoro: With the ship resting on this altar, we cannot put it in the water. Anyway, try to fix it somehow, Chopper. Chopper: Huh? I? All right.

    Robin_timida_4
Nami: Repair it? What are you going to do? Zoro: I'll go to the forest somehow, and we'll use this place as a meeting point. Luffy and the others will surely be looking for us.

The scene ends with an ambiguous observation, which lends itself to double meanings. To better follow the dialogues, here they are colored according to the colors that Oda attributed to the characters: purple for Robin, green for Zoro, orange for Nami. Well, Robin asks Zoro if she can follow him, and Nami is surprised at the request (this is the first time Robin has asked to accompany someone, and that someone is really Zoro!). Robin justifies herself by saying that there are many archaeological finds here, which are a boon to her, and she is very excited at the thought of seeing more. Curious as a term: is this a way of hiding the fact that she's excited to go with Zoro? In fact, she could also stay there and examine the inscriptions on the altar, and look for other things afterwards. She instead chooses to go with Zoro, and not only for a certain attraction, but also because she recognizes him as reliable to cross the forest without problems. In short, even if she hides it, Robin seems attracted to Zoro. Zoro's response appears cold like "don't get in the way", but the fact remains that he agrees to have Robin next to him: he certainly couldn't answer her kindly, so his answer had to have a certain roughness. And it seems that Robin has understood that Zoro was acting: in fact, she does not responds to Zoro's request not to get in the way ... ^_^

Robin: May I come with you? Zoro: Huh? Okay, but don't get in the way. Nami: What? Is Robin going too? Robin: Look around you. Everyone: ? Robin: This altar will be at least 100 years old. Seeing such historical artifacts excites me a lot ...
