ZOROBIN ENIES LOBBY ARC 2 - EVERYONE READY TO ATTACK

During the train ride to Enies Lobby, Sanji is with them: he failed to save Robin. Zoro doesn't scold the cook for his failure, which he often does in other cases. How come? It is likely that the reason is that Sanji, at that moment, is telling them some background on Robin's history, and they don't know anything about yet. So Zoro is attentive to what he says: among other things, the swordsman knows that Sanji has done everything possible against overwhelming opponents (he even warned him before!). Zoro's determination is also evident when he interrupts Nami: in fact, at that moment, the woman navigator had expressed some perplexity. It is clear that Robin is the priority for him.

Nami: It's true, but... Zoro: Forget it...we're going to save her anyway.

Once they arrive at Enies Lobby and have sided against the CP9, the moment of truth arrives: Robin's confession. She, even if is still handcuffed, explains to them the reason for her behavior. Faced with Robin's confession, Zoro is the only one to actually comment on the fact. The others either repeat her name or are thoughtful. This shows how much Zoro cared to know why Robin had acted like this. Usually, Zoro listens to other people's stories with disinterest, but here it's quite different. Zoro cares Robin, and a lot.

Robin: You will only consider me a burden in the end! You will betray me and abandon me like the others! This is what I fear the most! That's why I didn't want you to come and save me! If this is a life I'm going to lose...I'd rather lose it now! Chopper: Robin...Sanji: Robin-chan... Rufy: ... Zoro: Here's how things stand...Nami: !!

It's time for the real attack to Enies Lobby to free Robin: and it's also the first time that Zoro shows an "evil face" (following Nami's own words), due to another person's pain. Zoro is shown to be very eager to go into battle to free Robin as he has never been seen before: this also shows how much Robin is important to him. And it is also the first time that Zoro is seen so furious about what happened to a woman of the crew: in Alabasta arc, he was not so furious towards Crocodile when he tormented Bibi, telling her his plans for the destruction of Alabasta, while Zoro and the others were in a cage. Nami herself notes that here Zoro's face is really terrible: it's a sign that not even she, who had been one of the crew since the beginning, practically together with Zoro, had never seen him like this.

Zoro: Hurry up and lower the bridge! Nami: what an evil face!

Not even with Nami Zoro it was like this: indeed, when she was suspected of betrayal because she had stolen Rufy's ship, Zoro had no second thoughts, reflections, or anything similar. He had no half measures: he speaks of eliminate her.

Zoro: We made it. The first thing is to find out where Nami hid the ship. Then, we'll slice her. Johnny: But why should we do that?! Usop: Are you dumb? We still don't know anything about what happened and you want to kill her?

How come this? Well, I think it's because Zoro didn't have feelings for Nami in particular. Her betrayal hadn't shocked him like in Robin's case, and as such he had no problem thinking about slicing Nami apart. On the other hand, he was very attracted to Robin and, when the possibility arises that she has betrayed them (i was especially worrying, as Aoikiji had warned them about it), Zoro tries to stay calm and think rationally: it is the only thing you feel like doing, in case someone you really care about has cheated on you. Zoro, once he learns the truth, is ready to battle against Kaku of the CP9, whereas before, he had problems facing him; indeed, at that moment Kaku was weaker, because he had not yet had the powers of the devil fruit. Now Zoro is ready to face him even if he has become stronger than before.
