ZOROBIN: ALABASTA ARC - 3° PARTThe first article is here. The previous article is here.In chapter 174 we are almost in the middle of Alabasta arc. When Robin and Crocodile leave the casino where they sentenced Zoro and the others to death, they see the "billions" (their men) defeated by Sanji: in fact, the title of the chapter is "Mister Prince", the nickname of Sanji. The point is, if the title refers to Sanji, the cover features Zoro.
And among the downed billions there are two swords: two is Zoro's number and the sword is obviously his symbol. And Robin is practically halfway between the two swords.
Crocodile discovers the mysterious "Mister Prince", showing up "secretly" down the street (but he is Chopper, not Sanji: it is a Sanji's trick, very ingenious in these things). Well, Crocodile obviously wants him dead. What about Robin? She says Crocodile he could let him go. Let him go Mr Prince? Mr Prince, who knocked out ALL Crocodile's men? Robin, what are you saying? Obviously Crocodile, very pissed off, doesn't even listen to her.
Why this strange Robin outing? It is likely that it does so out of a form of remorse due to Zoro being sentenced to death in the casino (we talked about it). Or - and this hypothesis is interesting - Robin already knew Chopper and she wanted to protect him ever since. In fact, when Robin joins Luffy's crew, she doesn't ask who is Chopper. Still, she should have asked: Chopper and Robin have never met directly in the Alabasta story. Indeed, since Robin is in Luffy's crew, she talks familiarly with Chopper without even being surprised to have a
talking reindeer in front of her!
So how does Robin already know about Chopper? Did she secretly follow Luffy's crew to Drum Island where they met the reindeer? There are many untold stories in One Piece. Another Zorobin curiosity is the fact that Miss All Sunday's real name, "Nico Robin" is pronounced for the first time by Croco
dile in
chapter 177. It may be a coincidence, but the number 177 has twice the number seven: seven is Robin's number and two is Zoro's number.
Let's move on to another Zorobin curiosity: both Robin and Zoro indicate Luffy as a kid a little impetuous. For example, when Zoro sees Luffy abandoning them to face Crocodile himself, he calls him "crazy kid".
And, after Luffy is saved by Robin, she leaves him in Pell's hands: and Robin also calls him "kid".
